by Dorothee Kandzi

Dive into a past era with our patterns. On this sampler, you will find corner solutions which are particularly suitable for decorating table linens and napkins. Each edge contains more than one pattern repeat, so that it can be easily continued. The designs come from the model books of the 17th and 18th century, which were mainly published in Nuremberg. The craft of copperplate engraving flourished in Nuremberg, and people were particularly interested in botanical and floral designs. Maria Sibylla Merian stands out as an engraver in this field. She also created pattern books for the embroidery of the time.
