Saxon sampler

The first preserved samplers date from the early 17th century. They are narrow and long, because the looms had a small width. The narrow samplers of this period feature borders arranged in rows one below the other, corner designs, and Christian designs, as well as secular representations of the splendid, courtly couple who walked twice through this magnificent sampler. The samplers of this period inspired us to create this design.
